I'm Neal. That's me down there! You can hover or tap on each of the tiles below to find out a little bit more about me.

You've probably already worked it out by now, but I'm a freelance Web Designer and Developer from Kent. Before becoming a Web Designer, I was a Payroll Manager, but I never really enjoyed it and always felt like I was in the wrong career. About five years ago I took the decision to change my career and I haven't looked back since. I enrolled on a course that taught me the basics of coding and developing websites and then I started off building small, simple websites for friends and colleagues, as well as taking other courses in my spare time to expand my knowledge. As my skills grew, I began building bigger and more complex websites.

In 2015 I was approached by an award-winning design and branding agency in Kent called Open Water. They offered me the opportunity to join their Web Production team and I was delighted to accept. I've been freelancing for them on a regular basis ever since. You can view my profile on their website here and if you would like to see the projects I've worked on with them, check out the Uniware project and the Northfleet School for Girls project. I was also involved in building their own website.

As well as my work with Open Water, I also freelance individually. You can view my recent projects on my Portfolio page. I'm interested in all kinds of projects, from small, simple one-off websites, to larger projects that are too big for one developer and require collaboration with other people. I have my own network of colleagues that I have built up, including an award-winning freelance designer, a branding expert and a graphic designer/artist, so if your project is big, I can handle it.

If you are interested in discussing your project with me, please feel free to get in touch.

This is me. Hello!

This is my son James. When I'm not building websites, he keeps me very busy!

This is my labrador Rafa. As you can see, he was thrilled to have his picture taken.

Last year I completed a Bsc Honours Degree in Physics with the Open University.

This is how I used to feel in my old career.

This is how I feel now that I'm a Web Developer!

In my spare time I like to play guitar. I also dabble on the piano (although I'm not very good!).

I'm a massive Star Wars fan. I know, pretty tragic for a 38 year old man!

If you thought physics and Star Wars wasn't geeky enough, I'm also really interested in astronomy.

I'm always looking to expand my coding knowledge and improve my skills. Coding languages are always changing and it's important to keep up with the times.

Changing careers was the best decision I ever made. I now really enjoy my work and am happier than ever.

I couldn't think of anything for this last tile, so here's a picture of an elephant.
